Apple has reported that its newly released iPhones have sold upwards of 10 million devices in the first weekend. Apple has once again broken a new record for sales during the first weekend as last years 5c and 5s sold 9 million in the same time period. Apple was able to achieve this feat by selling the devices across 9 countries including Canada, France, the UK and the US just to name a few. Sales will continue to climb as Apple introduces its new phones to 20 new countries on Sept. 26.
"Sales for the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus exceeded our expectations for the launch, and we couldn't be happier," stated Apple CEO Tim Cook. "We would like to thank all of our customers for making this our best launch ever, shattering all previous sell-through records by a large margin. While our team managed the manufacturing ramp better than ever before, we could have sold many more iPhones with greater supple and we are working hard to fill orders as quickly as possible."
Apple did not break down sales figures for each device.
