On Monday GM announced that the brand new ATS will be the first of its Cadillac line of vehicles to receive wireless charging provided by Powermat. GM says that its Escalade and CTS models will soon follow with the option. There is no word on how much the option will cost.
GM told the folks at Slashgear that it will also offer the option for Qi wireless charging too. Qi is a wireless technology found in a number of Lumia Windows Phones and the Nexus 5.
GM said that the wireless charging mat will be "located inside the storage bin behind the fully motorized center instrument panel faceplate of the ATS."
