As part of Microsoft's reconstructing process, the Xbox Entertainment Studio will close down within the coming months. Xbox head, Phil Spencer, sent out an email to employees on Thursday with all the details attached. Xbox Entertainment Studios was created in the fall of 2012 with the hopes to provide great TV content to those with Xbox systems. Nancy Tellem, a former CBS executive, was at the helm of the division which featured some 200 workers.
The announcement comes along side news of an 18,000 person job cut, which will take place over the course of the next year. Microsoft is said to be reshifting the Xbox division back to gaming. Two shows will remain in production though, Tellem's Signal to Noise and the Halo TV series.
