Just as planed, Ford has unveiled the refreshed 2015 Focus ST at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. The refresh not only brings along a slightly altered front and back end but also brings changes to the electric assisted power steering and suspension system.
Ford has changed the overall shape of the headlights and bumpers. A new spoiler, side skirts and center hexagonal tailpipes are also new. The inside looks fairly similar to the interior of the 2015 refreshed regular Focus complete with an updated Sync System and feature buttons to help users get to certain parts of the system without interacting with the screen. Recaro seats are still offered but new for 2015 is a flat bottom steering wheel. A review camera is also standard.
Changes to the suspension include new shock absorbers and front springs. The steering has also been retuned to provide better feel. Power is still sent to the front wheels and the 2.0 liter 4 cylinder ecoboast engine is still there and provides the Focus with 252 HP and 270 lb-ft of torque. The 6-speed manual transmission has been reworked to deliver better acceleration in lower gears.
The 2015 Focus ST will be available this fall with deliveries scheduled for early next year.
