Early Tuesday morning, HTC announced a brand new Windows Phone device coming to Verizon Wireless. The HTC One (M8) for Windows (yeah that is the name) looks to merge the great hardware of the original One (M8) with Windows Phone. The device is available starting today online and in stores tomorrow.
The HTC One for Windows features a 2.3Ghz quad-core Snapdragon 801 processor with 2GB of RAM. 32GB of storage is available and a microSD card slot with support for up to 128GB of storage is also on board. A 5-inch 1080p display is on the front for your viewing pleasure. HTC's BlinkFeed is also available. HTC is using the same camera set up as before. A 4 "UltraPixel" camera resides on the back and a 5MP camera is on the front. HTC's Duo Sense lens, used to refocus certain aspects of the image in post production, is also on board. The device comes with Windows Phone 8.1 Update 1 pre-installed with support for dot view cases. The cases allow users to quickly access Cortana, weather, the time and plenty more.
The phone is available online now and in stores on Wednesday. On contract, the device will cost $99 or $29.99 a month for Verizon Edge users. The dot view case is available in red, orange, black and purple (a special Xbox dot view case was also created but can not be bought by the public) for $49.99.
