  • A supercharged V10 viper could be on the way

Autoblog is reporting that a new supercharged V10 engine might be coming to the new Viper. Word comes from the chaps at Allpar and states that Chrysler is already in the process of prototyping the new engine to fit in the Viper. The move comes as the brand new SRT Hellcat Challenger has surpassed the Viper as the most powerful car within the brand. The SRT Hellcat Challenger produces 707hp and 650 lb-ft of torque. So, just how much horsepower would a supercharged V10 make?

The report claims that this new engine could possibly produce 800hp and 650 lb-ft of torque. Substantial work will have to be done to the Viper's chassis in order for it to handle such power, so do not expect this car anytime soon. If the news is true, then I may have just added another car to my ever growing bucket list.
