  • Microsoft's Xbox division isn't going anywhere.

Despite many rumors of Microsoft spinning off the Xbox division, in an email, CEO Satya Nadella has stated that Microsoft is "fortunate" to have Xbox under its wing and he reaffirms employees that Xbox is here to stay.

Nadella believes that Xbox represents the "single biggest digital life category, measured in both time and money spent." By time and money spent, Nadella is referring to gaming.

"We are fortunate to have Xbox in our family to go after this opportunity with unique and bold innovation," wrote Nadella. "Microsoft will continue to vigorously innovate and delight gamers with Xbox. Xbox is one of the most-revered consumer brands, with a growing online community and service, and a raving fan base."

Nadella also wrote that Microsoft, as a whole, benefits from the many technologies found in Xbox. "Core graphics and NUI in Windows, speech recognition in Skype" and many other technologies are directly related to the innovations created from the Xbox team.
