Skydog was a unique Kickstarter project that began last year. Skydog is a service that provides easy control of your router and the devices connected to it, through the cloud. Users can control data, parental controls and many more all through the mobile app. On Monday, it was announced that Skydog's parent company, PowerCloud Systems will be acquired by the Xfinity company, Comcast.
Comcast's Tyson Marain told the good folks at VentureBeat that they are looking to provide customers with "smart internet." With the acquisition, Comcast hopes to provide users with the tools to easily manage and track devices on the network. In the future, Comcast is looking to provide functionality for users to keep certain devices away from the rest of the network for security purposes.
Current users of Skydog can expect there service to be functional through their 3-year service plan. After that, expect the unexpected. Head here for more tech news.
