Mitsubishi has been on quite an upward trend lately. Autoblog reports that for the month of may, Mitsubishi's sales were up approximately 54.17% compared to last year, so it should come as no surprise that Mitsubishi is updating interior styling and the powertrain for the 2015 model year of its best selling model the Outlander Sport. The 2015 Outlander Sport gets a newly updated CVT which helps the car to achieve better fuel economy in both the Front and All Wheel Drive models. The FWD model gets a boost of 1 mile-per-gallon across the board, 25/32/28 mpg. The AWD model will receive a 1 mile-per-gallon boost on the highway and the combined rating for 24/30/27 mpg. Mitsubishi did not disclose what was done differently with the transmission but it says that the new CVT is equivalent to that of 7-speed automatic transmission. For those purists who want a manual, the FWD ES model is still offered with a 5-speed manual with Hill Start Assist standard.
Some cosmetic changes include: thicker side window glass and more noise isolation that make for a quieter ride, piano black and silver trim around the audio instrument panel and LED running lights for the higher SE trim. Hit the source for more photos.
