Microsoft's Panos Panay just announced the new Surface Pro 3 at an event in New York today. Many speculated, and were wrong I might add, that a smaller 7 to 8 inch Surface mini would be announced along with the new 12 inch Pro 3. After spending roughly 10 minutes talking about the journalists in the audience sporting their Macbooks and possibly carrying a tablet, Panay unveiled the ultra light and thin tablet/laptop hybrid. He even weighed the Surface against the Macbook air to show just how light the Pro 3 really is. Here are some quick facts from the presentation after the jump.
The Surface weighs only 800g and is 9.1 mm thick.
The screen is 3:2 aspect ratio and displays a resolution of 2160x1440.
The new multi-friction kickstand allows the user to dial in what position they want.
The new pen allows for super sensitive tracking and the palm block technology found in the device keeps documents still while the users palm rests on it
The device is available for pre-order tomorrow and pricing is as follows.
i3-4GB RAM-64GB - $799
i5-4GB RAM-128GB - $999
i5-8GB RAM-256GB - $1299
