The LG G3 is finally official and even though everybody knew what to expect, stupid leaks, it is still an exciting time for LG. The G3 is equipped with an OIS+ 13-megapixel rear camera, a 2.1-megapixel front camera developed to take the "best-selfies," a 5.5 inch QHD display with 538 ppi, and a new "Laser Auto Focus" system that LG claims focuses quicker than other smartphones on the market.
Powering the device is Qualcomm's Snapdragon 801 processor with a clock speed of 2.5Ghz. LG has equipped the smartphone with a powerful 3,000mAh battery and an ample amount of RAM, 3GB.
The G3 will be available in the US this summer on T-Mobile, Sprint, AT&T, and Verizon Wireless coming in 16 and 32GB flavors with microSD card support for up 128GB, and colors options ranging from black, white, gold, violet, and red. No word on pricing as of yet.
LG has also announced "Smart Security." A set of features included to keep the G3 more secure. The G3 will now allow users to set a specific rhythm in which users tap on the screen to wake and unlock the device. Knock Code as LG is calling it, will unlock the device straight to the home screen and KnockON will wake the device so users can easily check time. Content Lock, keeps certain files inaccessible when friends are using the device. Locked files can be saved on an microSD card or the device itself. Finally LG has implemented a way for users to lock, or wipe their devices in the event of the device being stolen.
The G3 is a big device for LG that I hope to get my hands on soon for more testing. The device will debut in more than 170 countries on May 28.
