A report from Bloomberg suggests that Microsoft will announce layoffs this week as it continues to refocus its business practices. Microsoft recently bought the devices and services division of Nokia which added approximately 30,000 employees to the company. This new round of layoffs could possibly Microsofts biggest round of layoffs ever.
Back in 2009, Microsoft laid off roughly 5,800 people in an effort to refocus its business practices. This round of layoffs is said to affect the Xbox team, software testers and those brought over from Nokia. There is no word on just how many people will be out of a job, but as the news comes in, I will report it.
