  • Android apps coming to Chromebook.

Google is looking to close the gap between Chrome OS and its mobile operating system Android. Google announced Wednesday that in the near future, users will be able to run Android apps on their Chromebooks. These apps of course have to be slightly recoded to work but Google promises that it took steps to make things easy for developers.
On stage Vine, Flipboard and Evernote were shown running on a Chromebook. These were pretty much the exact same tablet optimized apps that can be found in the Google Play Store. Apps will run in their own window and can be allowed access to other parts of the system. For example, Vine can access the Chromebooks webcam and allow users to create six second videos to be shared with the world.

While these apps are coming, I am not too sure when exactly. I will do more digging around and update the post accordingly. Head here for more tech news.
