New rumors about the Ford Focus RS have arrived and this time they come curtesy of Road & Track (R&T). R&T reports that the new 2016 Ford Focus RS could indeed come with an All Wheel Drive (AWD) system and could make its way to the US. The new AWD system is said to come with some sort of torque vector mechanism to help sharpen handling.
This is great news for US citizen seeing as the most recent RS model is not sold in the US at all. R&T also reports that Ford might use the same 4-cylinder 2.3 liter EcoBoast engine coming to the new Mustang. While the Mustang's engine produces 310hp, the new RS could produce anywhere between 325 to 350 horses.
So why might the new RS's 2.3 liter produce more horsepower than the Mustang and the Lincoln MKC? Well this new RS is likely only coming in a limited quantity thus allowing Ford to further sweeten the deal.
There is no word yet on when the 2016 RS will be available, if it even will, in the US but we still have plenty of time. Hit the source link for more spy photos.
