So it appears that EA did approach Sony after all about its brand new Access service. EA announced, on Monday, that its new Access service, would allow users to download certain titles, receive discounts and be granted early access to certain games all for $4.99 a month.
Many wondered why this brand new service was coming to the Xbox One exclusively. Game Informer has released details as to why. Sony told the magazine/website, "We evaluated the EA Access subscription offering and decided that it does not bring the kind of value PlayStation customers have come to expect." The company continued by stating, "We don't think asking our fans to pay an additional $5 a month for this EA-specific program represents good value to the PlayStation gamer."
Something tells me this has everything to do with Sony's rental program, PS Now, which public beta begins on July 31.
