  • Report: Apple looking to buy news radio provider Swell for $30 million.

A report from Re/Code suggests that Apple is readying an acquisition of Swell Radio for approximately $30 million. Never heard of Swell? Well, Swell is a radio service that aims to figure out each users interests and provide great news radio content to its users.

It was reported that Swell will shut down operations of the app this week and move its existing employees over to Apple. NPR and ESPN are two other organizations that Apple has partnered with in order to bring great news radio content to iTunes Radio.

This acquisition along with Beats, earlier this year, shows that Apple has big plans for radio in the future. Watch the above video for more information about Swell.
